Overview:

The BLM St. George Field Office has two Noxious Weeds-Range Technician positions available for the summer field season. The focus will be directed primarily towards the eradication of noxious weeds and completing vegetation monitoring throughout the Field Office.

Responsibilities:

Experience will be gained in noxious weed identification, mapping, and eradication. The position will require approximately 95% field work and 5% office work. Duties include: • Noxious Weed Identification • Noxious Weed Mapping (GPS Unit) • Noxious Weed Eradication (Chemical and Hand Tools) • Noxious Weed Chemical Calibration • Obtaining a Pesticide Applicators License • Lifting and carrying 50 lbs (i.e. backpack sprayer)

Qualifications:

• Good communication and interpersonal skills • Experience working in an outdoor setting • Experience driving 4x4 vehicles in rugged terrain • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite • Current Utah State pesticide applicators license preferred, but not required
